Welcome to Food Para Todos

Redirecting fresh food to people, not landfills.

Who we are

Driven by Community, Dedicated to Food Recovery

Food Para Todos is an initiative of Community Initiatives for Collective Impact, focused on food recovery, food access, and community redistribution across Merced County.

One of our greatest strengths is our deep connection to the local community. We understand the neighborhoods, partners, organizations, schools, churches, and community spaces that help make food recovery work. By building strong, trusted, and lasting partnerships, we are able to quickly identify where food can go, who can help distribute it, and how to move it efficiently to the people and places that need it most.

As Food Para Todos continues to grow, we are actively moving toward becoming an independent 501(c)(3) organization. While we remain supported through Community Initiatives for Collective Impact at this time, our long-term goal is to establish Food Para Todos as its own nonprofit organization dedicated to food recovery, food access, and community resilience.

How we Work

A Collaborative Network

Food Para Todos is a Food Recovery Organization. We collect edible food from Food Generators (grocery stores, restaurants, farmers) that would otherwise go to waste and redistribute it to feed people in need.

“If you have come here to help me, then you are wasting your time. But, if you have come here because your liberation is tied to mine, then let us work together.”
— Lilla Watson

SB 1383 Food Recovery Support

Turning Surplus Food Into Community Support

California’s SB 1383 law was created to reduce organic waste, recover edible food, and help redirect good food away from landfills and into communities. Food recovery is an important part of reducing waste while helping make sure edible food reaches people instead of being thrown away.
